Recipient of the Best Shipping Personality award by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers; Excellence Leadership Recognition – Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka; Honored with lifetime achievement award at Seatrade – Sri Lanka Ports, Trade and Logistics; Life time award for most outstanding Logistics and Transport personality – Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.
Mr. Prematillake appointed to the Board of all subsidiaries of Fentons Group effective 1 st October 2018.
Previously, Mr. Prematillake served as the Country Director/General Manager of Ansell Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Industries Ltd. He also held a managerial position at Chevron Lubricants Lanka Ltd., and served at Messrs. Ernst & Young.
He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Colombo, B.Sc. Engineering (Hons) from the University of Moratuwa, Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Passed Finalist of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and a Graduate of the British Computer Society. (BCS)
Mr. Sujith De Alwis joined Fentons Limited in August 2002, as a Marketing Executive and held several managerial positions till 2011. He was appointed as the Assistant General Manager – ICT Marketing Division in 2011 and subsequently as the General Manager for both ICT Marketing and Engineering.
In 2016, he was appointed as the General Manager for ICT & UPS Divisions of Fentons & Energynet (Pvt) Ltd., and was appointed to the Board of all subsidiaries of Fentons Group with effect from 01st August 2018.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colombo.
Rejoined Hayleys in March 2007. Appointed to the Group Management Committee in July 2007. Appointed to the Board in September 2009. Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and Member, Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia . Holds a MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Worked for Hayleys and Diesel & Motor Engineering Co. between 1987 and 2002, and as an Executive Director of the latter. Subsequently held several senior management positions in large private sector entities in Sri Lanka and overseas. Has responsibility for Strategic Business Development and group IT.
Joined as the Chief Executive officer of Energynet (Pvt) Ltd / Hayleys Solar division in June 2017. He possesses over 25MW of Design, Installation and Commissioning experience related to Solar PV systems in Sri Lanka since 2011. Mr. Perera has worked for renowned organizations in Sri Lanka and Switzerland. He was appointed to the Board of Fentons Ltd. in August 2019.
He holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of London, UK and B.Sc. Engineering (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He is also an Associate member of Institute of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
Appointed to the Board of Hayleys PLC as an Independent, Non-Executive Director in September, 2016. Mr. Perera counts for over 30 years in the banking sector and is the former Managing Director of Sampath Bank PLC.
He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK)(FCMA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers – Sri Lanka (FIB). He holds an MBA from the Post Graduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also a member of the Institute of Engineers (Sri Lanka)(MIESL) and a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng).
Mr. Tharana Thoradeniya has over two decades of senior management experience in multi-industry scenarios. He sits on the Boards of several public quoted and privately held companies in Sri Lanka, including Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC, Lanka Walltiles PLC, Lanka Ceramic PLC, Hayleys Fibre PLC, Delmage Ltd, Unidil Packaging Ltd, Vallibel Plantation Management Ltd, Dipped Products (Thailand) Ltd., and several others.
He is a Group Director of Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC and CEO/Director of Rocell Bathware Ltd. Mr. Tharana has been credited as a proven business innovator across industries. A marketer by profession, Tharana was in the pioneering batch of Chartered Marketers of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
Former Senior Commissioner of the Appeals and Objections Settlement Unit of the Inland Revenue. More than 34 years of government (public) sector experiences including 31 years’ experience of tax administration as an Assessor, Senior Assessor Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner and Senior Commissioner.
He holds Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) Special Degree (Second Class Upper Division) Honours, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and Master of Commerce (M; Com) (University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka),Fellow Member of Institute of Taxation Sri Lanka (FTII (SL)).
Re-joined the group on 31st January 2022 and was appointed to the board of Fentons Ltd. and its subsidiaries on 17th February 2022. He was the former CFO/Group Financial Controller of Rockland Distilleries (Pvt.) Ltd. and in that capacity worked as the Senior Finance Manager for several companies. Mr. Gunawardana is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Sri Lanka, reading over 15 years’ experience in Finance. In addition, he’s an associate member of the CPA Australia and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Colombo and a masters of business administration from University of southern Queensland. His experience spans to the manufacturing, services, and retail, with wide exposure to group restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, setting up of international operations, tax planning and treasury management.
